I started this hike yesterday with the intention of breaking trail to the Wilderness sign.. I was pleasantly suprised to see a vehicle parked alongside the trailhead… I set out on Pine Bend with the intention of making it a packed trail for the person who was headed up.. I started in around 9:00 AM (late) wanting to make sure the Kanc was plowed Wednesday AM… just past the Wilderness sign I came upon 2 who turned around at the beginning of the steep section.... we walked out together and I told them my plan to come back today
So today.. nice, smooth walk in to the Wilderness sign and then the “fun” began… there was alot of drifting on all the steep sections and route finding was difficult… finally made it up to North T and seriously considered calling it a day but then thought it’d be another hard day getting back up to break trail in between… there was a bit less snow so I made the right decision pushing on to Middle Tri… anyone out there soon: I was solo so expect it to be totally unconsolidated, and sorry if some areas are not actually the trail… I have placed a few arrows in the snow (will they still be there???) for a better angle up/down…. Again, expect alot of loose trail conditions |
