Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Holy carwash, batman! Down low generally wasn't too bad, only a few eye pokers and face-whippers here and there... but as soon as the trail started to climb, it turned into quite the carwash, even including a complimentary undercarriage scrub in a number of places! A handful of minor duck-unders scattered the length of the trail, but nothing that really obstructed travel- likely plenty of clearance when the snow is gone, but given current snow depth, they're just a little bit low for the taller folks!

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost a fair amount of energy by the end of the day, but found a number of new friends... Seems like a pretty fair trade to me!

Comments
Comments: Couldn't have asked for a better day to join Tom and company for his SSW48/70 finish. A lot of open drainages down low made for a bit of a nuisance, some were bridged but they seem to be collapsing- makes for either a substantial step down and back up, or a leap of faith across the crevasse! Aside from that, the trail was pretty close to a perfect sidewalk the whole way. I left the car, figuring I'd assess what to wear for traction once I completed the roadwalk and got to see the trail conditions- most of the group wore spikes, a few wore snowshoes, but I managed to bareboot the whole way up and back with little to no problem- a few of the steeper spots might've been a little less stressful with spikes on, but nothing was too steep or slick to prevent me from ascending and descending- just needed a bit of occasional careful footwork!
