Comments
Comments: Wolfeboro Rd had a good snowshoe track to Harris Trail where the well traveled track turned S on Harris Trail.. Then only one snowshoer had continued to the Moose col- supportive conditions. Headed N on the AT following the tracks of one snowshoer and a barebooter. Upon reaching the northernmost spur to the shelter, we were surprised to find that the trail now had a well traveled snowshoe track. We tagged the peak (has a sign) and continued N to the end of the ridge where previous hikers claimed there was a higher bump. We found that this other bump was at least 6' higher than the currently recognized peak. Followed our tracks back to the col.
Headed up S peak snowshoeing alongside a butchered snowshoe track, in supportive conditions.
We started our hike at 6:15am to take advantage of the colder temps, before the sun warmed up the snow surface.
