Comments
Comments: After spotting 2 vehicles at the Diana's Bath trailhead, the five of us meet at the S.Moat trailhead. We started a 8:45 as we planned to do the Moats traverse. Weather conditions were perfect with a blue bird day, temps starting around 20degrees and ending around 40. There was light to moderate winds at times on top. No issue with the well packed trail to the summit of SM. Micro spokes were the footwear of choice. As we suspected the trail between SM and NM was not broken out. We put on snowshoes and experience drifts and relatively firm snow on the exposed sections. Outside the open exposed sections snow depths averaged around 18-24" and trail was difficult to locate at times. As the day went on warmer temps made the snow soft and sticky. The trail from NM to Diana's Bath trailhead was broken out. We left snowshoes on coming off NM though after amount a mile down the packed trail narrowed so we changed over to micro spikes. We ended the hike about 5:30.
