Comments
Comments: Wow, today was perfect with that delightful spring combo of great weather and packed trails. Spikes to 3000' then snowshoes across the summit and back to 3000' then spikes to the car. Well packed but somewhat easy to slide off the edges and posthole if not careful and some divoting approaching the loop junction. North peak has a lot of annoyingly soft snow and patches medium depth postholes on the sides along with several low blowdowns waiting to murder unsuspecting hikers but mostly decently packed snow. The ridge is stabby and has a lotta leaning blowdowns and some meanderings in the blowdown patches. Despite Luigi and his friend postholio trying out for the Jamaican bobsled team on the descent down South Hancock, it was not obnoxiously luge track and was able to stroll down in my snowshoes. The next few days look wicked messy so these perfect conditions are unlikely to persist long and snowshoes are/will be essential to enjoyable travel up on the ridges
