 | Comments: |
From the lot, we walked about a mile down the snowmobile trail towards Elbow Pond. Turned left at the intersection towards Mt Cilley Road. About 100 yds before the HOL, we turned right to start the bushwhack onto what appeared to be an old logging road. Shortly we entered a clearing, took another old road going to the right (south). After a short distance, we turned into the woods to start the bushwhack heading SE towards the summit. The woods was open, and the snow was totally supportive on a hard crust making for great conditions. In no time we were on the ridge shoulder just to the west of the summit. Turned east and headed right up to the summit, register was easy to locate. We encountered some spruce around the summit, but it was easy to get through. Headed down NW to pick up our tracks half way back to the snowmobile trail. Made a stop by Elbow Pond on the way out. |
