Comments
Comments: Primarily hard pack snow with some soft pack areas. Mostly <1" of snowdrift on the trail. A few sections of the Imp Trail on both sides of the loop pass through open deciduous forest - these areas let in more light and as such the snow is softening. snowshoes would have been the best choice here, as they are up above 3000ft where there is a few inches of drift over the trail. Nice day out, plenty of perfectly preserved critter tracks from bunnies, squirrels, turkeys and the like criss-crossing the hills.
