Definitely needed 4WD getting into lot though it had been plowed before today's 3" of wet slush. Also, roads to the lot were in various states of extreme mud |

Snowshoes were a good choice. Actually, in many places, trail track was too narrow for my relatively narrow MSR's so I just walked parallel to trail much of the way. Generally, far easier to make your own trail then to try to follow the trench. The snow was well-crusted underneath - could have walked anywhere and I did, loosely following the trail. Later some barebooters came along - no worries about them wrecking the trail because I didn't leave a trail for them to wreck. :) |
