 | Comments: |
Trail set up with the below freezing temperatures last night, but was softening in the afternoon sun. Despite the bare fields nearby, the woods saw a net gain of snow over the weekend from Saturday's storm (still a trace to an inch of it remaining as of this afternoon). Snowpack still 1-2 feet or so deep.
I wore snowshoes roundtrip with the warming temperatures (mid 50s) to maintain the integrity of our local trail. A Microspiker installed a few new postholes today unfortunately. Upcoming weather may gradually weaken the firmness of the footbed, so snowshoes are the way to go if being considerate to others who wish to hike the trail in the coming weeks. |
