While it was windy, the sun and mild temps made for a beautiful hike up to Potash Mountain. The trail was soft in many spots, so we wore snowshoes almost the entire way. The logging road was tough, as even with the snowshoes on we left some postholes. There may have been one or two other snowshoe postholes left behind on the trail, too :) The upper ledges were mostly clear of snow, but had some icy spots as well as bare rock. It was tricky, as my winter boot tread was a bit slippery. Worth it for the views from all the lookouts. We couldn't believe we didn't see another person. |
