 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Deep ruts on Cardigan Mountain Rd. Cars may have trouble, but we were fine in an SUV. Parked at the small plowed lot across from the closed gate to the usual parking lot. There was one spot left when we got there at 4:45pm. About 0.5 mile to the trail head from there. |

 | Comments: |
We hiked for sunset, and had perfect conditions! No issue parking, the road walk up to the trail head was a good warm up and added about 0.5 mile each way. There were lots of post holes along the trail, but the trail was packed and mostly stable when we hiked- we were mindful of where we were stepping and had no issues. There are a few muddy areas where the sun shines through the trees. With the warmer weather coming, I'm sure the trail will be soft and messy! |
