| Comments: |
Below freezing temps over night meant that the trails were solid in the morning. Madeleine and I wore our micro spikes from the parking lot to the very windy summit of Carter Dome. Kristen joined us from Zeta Pass to the summit. Still a LOT OF SNOW at higher elevations. Temps warmed up enough on the way down that we switched to snowshoes at the first water crossing on the Carter Dome Trail to keep from post-holing. The monorail is beginning to form - one of the joys of April hiking. |
