 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Friendly dogs enjoying their day. Since most of this hike was snow-covered I am not sure if there are other streams. Bring extra water. And not for the folks who usually read this, but if you are going to bag your dog's $#@! and leave it there, why not go 200 feet of the trail and bury it instead? |

A fly went by (actually several). |

I checked traction; microspikes went for a ride, others used theirs. Good to be prepared for the effect of changing temps on the snow. If you have old ones, use them instead of the new - many bare rocky spaces. After the warm temps later this week, this may not be relevant.
Great time of year for this. Lower area trees don't have leaves yet, so plenty of views through them. Upper half has many ledges, open with excellent views. I did this 24 hours ago and have NO KNEE PAIN! This was an excellent hike to get back into things.
Good day for it, too. Bluebird sky, wind was a little cool on top, but not too bad. Trip down was the best, looking at so many beautiful views in all directions. A big Thank You to Rachel and Isis for their video of their Bald Knob hike a day or two before. It made this look like a good choice for me and it was! |
