| Comments: |
Started at 10 am and trail was firm up to Mizpah cut off, warm air but the shadows were still on the trail keeping footing with micro spikes fine. I had my snowshoes but was able to find good footing. Still, any deviation off the monorail to pass a hiker, etc. resulted in post-holing past my knee (2 ft or more). The conditions softened more after the Mizpah cut off, and by 1 pm when descending the trail was getting really soft at the summit. Recommend snowshoes for any hikes today and over the weekend given the warm temps predicted. |
