While rehabbing (knee, not alcohol), I thought I'd do a gentle hike to Kidder Mtn, and discovered a new parking lot that cuts off the 0.1 mile road walk on Rte 123/124 (if you were continuing south on the Wapack Trail). This is probably on the newer maps, I have an older one. The Wapack Link starts directly across from Windblown, is about 0.3 mile long, and brings you to the Wapack Trail at a 4-way intersection with Flat Mtn. Loop. The new parking lot has room for maybe 12-15 cars. The original trailhead just up the road on Old Rindge Road is still open.
Nice quiet hike. Trails were completely free of snow and ice. |
