Comments
Comments: You want variety? Find it here. Dry trail first mile. Some mild wet spots. Then the trail was wet with the day’s melt the next mile or so. Then we switched to snowshoes (while wearing shorts in 70 degree temps) as the monorail was thin and getting thinner by the minute at around 2800 ft. There’s an ice bulge at around 3000-3100 ft that’s sort of gnarly. Can be managed but traction or a short bushwhack in deep snow is necessary. Definitely an exhausting day.
