 | Water Crossing Notes: |
New River crossing on Gulf of Slides trail was raging! Spent about an hour looking for better places to cross, but found no good options. Concerned it would be worse in the afternoon, so changed plan. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
I met a very hostile seeming black lab coming down Hillman’s. His owner was unable to control him by voice. Fortunately, I got by without being bitten. IMHO, Tuckerman’s seems like a poor place to bring a dog with the springtime crowds and extreme stimulation of all the skiers, unless you are willing to keep the dog leased at all times. |

 | Comments: |
If you want to ski Gulf of Slides, fording the river seems the only option right now on the GOS trail. May not be the safest option. Able to skin up to Hojo’s with just a few short bare spots. Great skiing on Hillman’s, but snowpack has clearly been greatly reduced by recent weather. More like early May than April higher up I’d say. Sherburne was open to the bottom, but several significant bare stretches; I suspect closures will be happening soon. |
