 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked in a small pull off at the intersection of Martin Rd and Half Moon Pond Rd. At this spot, Half Moon becomes a Class 6, travel at your own peril road. 4 wheel drives with good clearance would have no issues on the sections I walked today. |

|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
A couple small ones, easy to hop over |

Some minor Spring cleanup on this section of the M-S, but with the 40” of snow this area received last month, the trail was in great shape. |

 | Comments: |
Walked Half Moon for about a half mile to reach the Greenway. Took the Greenway to the Kittredge Hill sign and after about 10 yards, turned right and went about another 20 yards to find the summit cairn lying under a good sized Spruce blowdown.
Continued north on the M-S to the Steve Galpin Shelter sign and followed it up to the shelter. From there I headed northwest on a direct heading through semi-open hardwoods to Lucias Lookout - South Peak or as it found on some maps “Little Sunapee”.
There are a couple minor snow patches along the ridge and a few muddy areas on trail to walk through. Nothing requires traction or snowshoes. Beautiful diverse forest along this stretch. Gorgeous hardwoods with Ash, Oak, Beech, Maple, etc., and a unique stand of Eastern Hemlock that is relatively short, but spectacular in it’s own right. |
