Bridges. I love the DOC because they build bridges! |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is very recent chainsaw work on the Moose Mountain Trail, and someone is building some terrific new bog bridges just below Three Mile Road on the Hanover Center Trail. Thank you! There is what appears to be a new (and really large - almost 3’ diameter) crawl-over on the Hanover Center Trail about 0.4 miles above Trescott Road. It’s not been delimbed (you would need to spend some time with a saw just to delimb this monster) and it’s a bit hard to work around. |

 | Comments: |
No snow or ice on any of these trails, and the mud on the AT is minor. If you add in the loop using the Harris and Thompson trails you will find near-continuous mud above the cabin. However this trail appears to be an old road and it has a lot of flat stones to walk on so I didn’t get too muddy and didn’t widen the trail.
The cabin has a hammock; taking a rest on a trailside hammock was a first for me (and quite nice!)
I only saw three section hiking backpackers today - they had spent the night at the Moose Mtn shelter and said it was a cold one. Eek! |
