Comments
Comments: Perfect day on my favorite mountain with Neal, Michelle, Gerri & Amanda. We saw four people the whole day. Summit naps on Middle Sister & Choco. Perfect time for the waterfalls, which are ripping nicely.

I barebooted all day. A few of the crew used spikes at certain points. Everything that is exposed is clear, and the trail is mostly clear until about 1500-2000 feet. Plenty of snow & ice in the shade/trees. Multiple feet deep still up in the switchbacks. We had the benefit of a cold night prior so everything was mostly firm until the afternoon.

I don’t know that it’s worth it to carry snowshoes with the narrow, deteriorating monorail but you better have some sort of strategy for keeping your feet warm/dry.
[Note: hikers recently had be rescued from these trails due to postholing]
