Fine whack to the summit. I went straight to clear highpoint on Gaia, kept climbing up until I couldn’t climb anymore and found what I thought for sure was the high point. No canister. I went back to Gaia and figured the high point must be further to the east, descended a bit, broke through some evergreens and stumbled onto the jar, with bright pink tape! I read the entries and saw Bryan’s initial post giving permission to move this jar to the actual highpoint as when he put it there, it was very deep snow. The next entry said they tried to untie the jar, but couldn’t. With the perfect weather today (mid 60’s and dry), I was able to get the knots untied and moved to the clear high point. If this turns out to have been the wrong thing to do, please email me and I’ll head back up and return the jar to it’s original spot. |
