I'll preface by saying I had Yaktrax instead of icespikes and they didn't cut it. I started bare booting for the first 1/4 mile, switched to Yaks for a bit but needed to go to snowshoes for any traction. Everyone I met had spikes and had no trouble. The last quarter mile was exposed rocks and monorail so I switched back to bare boots and had no problems. Because of the need to switch so much, I decided to take the ski trail down. I used snowshoes for the first 1/3 then barebooted the rest of the way. It was a breeze. |
