 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Couple of downed trees on southern side of loop; easy to get around. Looks like someone was out recently maintaining the trails since another tree was recently cleared from the trail. Over all wonderfully maintained, Thank You. |

Cooper had a great time. Easy route for dogs, but water was limited. |

Had this hike on a list to enjoy with family members who do not want to tackle the bigger hills. Wonderful hike to get out and enjoy the magnificent views. We followed the reports from Lady B and Beth Z (thanks to both); took the counter clock wise route. We walked up Cook Hill road, following it up to the foundations & cellar hole. At this point we explored a herd path trail off to the right; turned around when it was apparent that it was descending. The views from Passaconaway, Franconia Ridge & Notch, to the Kinsmans were wonderful despite the cloud cover. We returned to the main road, and continued to the ledge summit. We completed the loop over the summit and came out in the clearing which was on the left after passing through the gate (path was in the far right corner). It seems that logging in this area may be completed, as there were no indications of recent activity. |
