Cooper had fun. Easy gradual trail for pups. Some running water along side and on trail to quench a pups thirst. Also crossed a small feeder creek in B/W near ATV trail that was nice for a drink. |

 | Comments: |
Much easier hike than last March in heavy snow. Trails completely free of snow, and some water was running down the trail, but it was mostly dry. Couple of muddy spots could be easily avoided. Trail is wide all the way to the summit of Ames. Summit had some nice views, and register is easy to locate North of opening. We bushwhacked off the summit heading north, traveling slightly west of the col before heading north east to the summit of Currier. Rocky final approach to the summit was relatively easy and more open than woods on Ames. In fact, Next time I would return back down the ATV trail to around 1600 and enter the woods for the B/W at that elevation. The woods here seemed more open, making a shorter B/W and easy to climb to the summit of Currier; register easy to locate. Lots, really LOTS of evidence of moose around both summits. |
