Counter-clockwise loop of these two mountains. Very quiet in the morning, didn't cross paths with anyone until almost the Faraway Spur, then almost a conga line heading up Roberts as we headed down. Many peeps out enjoying the lovely day.
A few patches of snow in the woods, and a tiny bit on Faraway Spur area, easy to avoid. We built a tiny snowman with what was left, but he won't last long. Lots of water running on most trails, waterproof shoes/boots suggested.
No views from Faraway, but great views of the Sandwich Range, Chocorua, and a very still-snowy Mt. Washington from Roberts summit. Great views of Winni and the Belknap Range heading down the ledges of Mt. Roberts.
Saw a trail maintainer out working with loppers on Mt. Roberts Tr. Thank you for keeping these trails looking great. |
