Comments
Comments: Decided to hit the western ledges of Blueberry for the views North and West after reaching the true summit with cairn and iron pin. Entered the woods just below the 2600’ line through surprisingly easy going, not as thick as it looked, spruce and mossy carpet for about .3 miles. Once through that section, the woods opened up into beautiful open hardwoods (all the way essentially), to the summit sign (love the sign!) and its robust canister (opens from the bottom). Spent some time enjoying reading all the entries (furthest back I could make out was in the early 90’s).

From the Jeffers summit, I took a Southeast line down to the “North-South” or “Long Pond Rd” through an exceptional glade of a variety of Birch Trees with some magnificent Silver/Yellow Birch. Along this stretch and of note is that the Hobblebush are just starting to sprout their leaves, and given the significant patches I descended through, they’ll be difficult to work around, if you want to see the forest floor. Gaia had this at 7.5 miles, with the extra mile road walk.
