Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Don't quote me on this, but I think there was a sign on the road for the parking lot. I may be misremembering though. All I know is that we didn't miss it. It is a small lot with room just for a few cars and we were the only ones there on a Saturday both at 9:15am and 11:30am.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing of the small brook on rock steps was rock hopable though still seemed likely higher than usual.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Not trailhead. There's a widow maker/leaner maybe 10-15min in. It's small. There may have been other widow makers as well. There's a large, delimbed blowdown shortly before meeting the ridgeline I believe that you had to step or swing your legs around I think...or maybe you could just walk around it, I don't entirely recall. The trail is marked with white diamonds until the informal trail shortly before reaching the summit joins. That path is marked with white rectangles and the rest of the path to the summit and lookout is marked with these white rectangles as well. I don't believe the first major turn off the road and onto the footpath was really marked other than a nearby white marker.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Good hike for dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: We put on bug spray at the car as we saw some but they really weren't that bad. We chilled out for a long time at the summit where there wasn't all that much wind, and weren't bothered by them. They're certainly getting worse though...
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: A nice SNH redline with mom and dad :) The trail had a few mucky, wet spots down low but nothing that's really flooded and is "healing" nicely from all the rain we got. Pretty dry higher up on the trail. This is a great hike; minimal effort (even the "steep" part isn't really that steep) and fantastic views. What's more, we had the entire mountain to ourselves! There are two large jars on the top, filled with sign-ins. If the register wants to be kept going, it may be wise to add another, remove what's there currently, and add some more paper and writing utensils. It's sort of at an overflow stage and I did not bother writing in it. They've also fallen off the tree and are just on the ground by the ledge but aren't really damaged. Gaia had us at 2mi with about 600ft of gain.
