Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The most recent storm created a pretty good trench across the access road a couple hundred feet before the parking area that likely would create problems for low clearance vehicles. There is a small parking area just before reaching that some vehicles were using. But SUVs and 4 mini vans made it into main parking area as I did. There is a big pond hole just after turning on to the access road from Fowling Mills which might bother low clearance vehicles drivers but going slow should be good.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No signficant problems
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Brook is in pretty good shape generally, like most WODC trails. I recall a 6" OD spruce top had fallen into the trail blocking it. Liberty had a major 12" OD beech blowdown blocking the trail. But Liberty was a real mess do to lots of long stretches of running water and water swept debris in the trail where there was a slope, and just sitting in it under leaves or in mud where there was little slope. Many waterbars were overwhelmed in the last rain storm (I'm thinking) and continued today to send water down the trail often due to blockages from leaves, twigs, mud, etc. I opened up maybe a dozen with my poles but that's just a dent in the number, and likely not long lasting. People are walking on the sides in many places. A lot of good work has gone into this trail so it was sad to see.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Good dog trails.
Bugs
Bugs: Perhaps due to the wind they were not an issue.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Left a well used cotton T shirt found on Liberty at the Liberty TH.

Comments
Comments: I didn't plan on posting a report so I didn't keep any good mental notes, but the damage to the access road and Liberty trail were worth noting. The sometimes problematic Brook and Liberty ledges were mostly dry. It was a great day to be on Chocorua with only a few people on top at any time.
