 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Terrific parking for about 3 vehicles (backed in perpendicular to the road) 0.5 miles north of Martin Road. It's a Class VI road (I believe) and we've been down it a few times. We don't have a car with super high clearance and did well meandering SLOWLY around the ruts, rocks. (and I saw that a person this past week with a Subaru Crosstreck reports having done well) |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Lovely crossing the brook on the wooden bridge :-) |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Right at the start of the trail (Half Moon Pond Road) one large tree blow down (the tree with the "Max Israel State Forest" sign); however, it's off the trail (parallel to the trail) and it doesn't appear to be acutely new. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Though we did not see another soul (human or furry) all afternoon, I think a dog would really enjoy this side of the mountain :-)

 | Bugs: |
Out in force at 1p at the parking spot (none upon our return 3hr later- thanks to the wonderful BREEZE!). Flies were out in spurts during the sections of the trail when the breeze was not there... but not too bad. HOWEVER, they were HORRIBLE at Max Israel Shelter... horrible! haha they're baaaaaaaack! buzz! |
