Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One big duck under on Winslow, one smaller blowdown halfway down Barlow that has herd path being established
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw several. Park requires them to be on leash so left Fin at home. Dry trail would want to carry dog water when warm. Winslow is pretty rugged but no problem for hiking dogs
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies swarmed me lower half of Winslow this morning but left the kids alone. Big bet was very helpful. Moving too quick on way down for them to bother us.

Comments
Comments: Another fun, easy hike with the kids. Definitely recommend counter-clockwise as Winslow is much rougher and steeper. The amount of erosion and trail creep is amazing-makes Cardigan’s West ridge trail look like new construction. terrain and woods are amazing as are the summit views. The horrific communications tower along with its ever-present thrumming noise of high voltage electricity is enough to make me happy to never hike this otherwise beautiful peak again. What a man-made atrocity-really gross:(
