 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I would not recommend driving the Class IV section of Carter Mountain Road with a car (there is a small pull off just before that descent) due to protruding rocks. I parked at the next pull-off because I saw a washout ahead. In hindsight, I could have made it to the old logging landing with my truck, but it was only about 1/3 of a mile. |

 | Bugs: |
Awful. Black flies were vexing and picked up over half a dozen ticks. Also notorious for deer flies in-season. Probably best to wait until late summer at this point. |

 | Comments: |
Unmarked path had some mud bogs to contend with (generally around the logging landing), but could be circumvented with care. Views not as good up top now with the leaves out.
Nice variety of flowers in bloom, including hepatica on the road walk.
Overcastish (Canadian smoke?) afternoon with temperatures hitting the low 70s and a nice breeze at times. |
