Black flies were out but only a bother while standing still. |

The Long Pond trailhead is about 0.7 miles from the gate. The Forest Service was there while I was stashing a bike in the woods and said that there had been a report of a significant washout. They were going to check it out and had no idea when the road would be open. The trails were in great shape and easy to follow. Limited views from the summit. Speaking of which, I walked right by the spur to the true summit and had to double back. |
