Comments
Comments: Cold and windy morning, no snow on imp, some mud and water. At 25oo there is a significant blowdown across the trail. North Carter the monrail starts, this morning was fresh snow and ice , all was firm. Carter moraih trail was frozen with stable monrail but many trees sticking out--Large blow down about .3 from South Carter summit and another one after the summit on the way to zeta pass. Carter Dome was tedious as monrail is high and skinny with alot of branches showing and hard to get by, this section is the start of CM as it gets higher up it gets better with still a lot of snow --5 feet.Summit was sticky melting snow .I used microspikes .Saw two people on the way down Carter Dome , thats it all day.small blow down on Carter dome around 3000 feet, descendingSnow ends at 3600. A refreshing sunny hike with beautiful breezes .
