Wowza, thank you to the dedicated individuals that have been dealing with the incredible number of blowdowns on these trails. Thank you!!!!!!
This was a bit of a crazy loop (but Hiking the White Mountain Guide is a bit of a crazy project!). I liked the scrambles on Algonquin and Black Mountain Pond Trails. The latter reminded me of the Desolation Trail, and I was glad that I went up this rather than down. Bennett Street has fabulous footing and Guinea Pond is muddy in places, with one 50’ stretch totally submerged in water but bypassable via some really lucky logs (thank you beavers for your fine work!). There is a smidgen of snow here and there but my light traction stayed in my pack. |
