Comments
Comments: We did a large loop with North Moat Mountain as the pinnacle, reprising something we did several years ago, beginning at Diana's Baths. This time, however, we went up the Red Ridge Trail (instead of down) and down North Moat via the northern section of the Moat Mountain Trail (instead of up), ending back at our car at Diana's Baths. Red Ridge Trail is pretty eroded for a quarter mile or so on the steep uphill just past the crossing of Moat Brook; easier to go up this way. Moat Mountain Trail north of North Moat is pretty easy and gentle to descend, and avoids most of the knee-pounding of going down Red Ridge Trail.

Red Ridge Trail is one of our favorite trails in the Whites.

We saw only two people all day until at Diana's Baths, and even then, just a handful of folks.
