Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: When I arrived at Cardigan Lodge at 8 it was already getting busy. When I returned at noon, there were cars parked along Shem Valley Rd. directly next to the signs that explicitly state that there is no parking along the road. This is why we can't have nice things.

Comments
Comments: A return to the Cardigan area to check on a few things for the next SNHTG.

Despite the dry conditions, Welton Falls had a good flow going; always a lovely spot. Back 80 Trail, which is often wet, had also dried out; just a small amount of mud there.

It appears the masses were headed directly to Cardigan as I only saw one other person on this loop.

There was a helicopter in the area all morning. It flew overhead and then I heard it making what sounded like runs to and from Cardigan. Not sure if it was a training run or shuttling supplies.
