Comments
Comments: Fabulous day for the classic loop (Gorge Brook / Carriage Road / Snapper) hiked counterclockwise. Mostly dry, intermittently muddy trails with some stretches of very stable elevated monorail both on Gorge Brook and Carriage Road (Snapper was free of snow). Microspikes made those sections easy, but you can bare boot them (particularly the flat sections). Lots of people out enjoying the great conditions and I was fortunate to meet two terrific hikers and, as a team, we had a great time on the loop. It was socked in on the summit, and we did pop up to South to see if the skies would clear, but they did not; the South Peak spur also had a stretch of stable monorail. Thanks for a great day, Sarah and Gary!
As a bonus, just as we were finishing the hike, we met the Teal Goat and had a nice chat!
