 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Water was high on the river crossing just west of Zealand Hut. Reasonable crossing if willing to jump or get feet wet, though some parties turned around. Due to 1/5" of rain we got in the past evening, and will likely resolve in 48hrs. |

 | Comments: |
We got 1.5" of rain last night, so trails were on the wet side, particularly everything around Zealand Hut, and the ascent to Zealand. At about 3900' on the Twinway, the monorail starts. The monorail itself was soft and slushy, with occasional post holing and breakthrough to the water runoff below. I was trail running today and had to slow down significantly on the monorail- conditional unfortuantley weren't at all runnable. With high top goretext boots, it should be easy. Spikes aren't needed- the snow is too soft and they wouldn't work anyway, |
