 | Dog-Related Notes: |
So sorry, no doggies allowed at Monadnock since c 1988-89.
All the trails, the gates and website clearly say no dogs.
I love dogs, but thems the rules.
Don’t bother making excuses. The rangers have heard them all. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Thankfully few. Most were grounded by light winds. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Got nothing to report or leave at lost & found.
Usually find a single glove. Oddly, no one returns for these. ;-) |

Generally a great day on the mountain.
Beautiful weather and good trail conditions.
It was refreshing to hike all the way up cascade. Hadn’t been all the way up it since last summer.
Had one ‘oooooh’ moment along Pumpelly when I heard what I surmised was a great grey owl hoot once.
One of the few owls in our boreal environs that’s active during day.
Admittedly, I’ve heard their Barred Owl cousins active at 10 in the morning elsewhere, but they have distinctively different calls. |
