Comments
Comments: Keep in mind, there was a significant amount of rain the night before, so there was significant standing and running water for the first 3/4 of the hike. None of which though were significant or concerning. The first two water crossings required getting in the drink, but the depth/flow wasn't dangerous. The third crossing only needed rock hopping. First patches of old ice and snow showed up at 3300', but easily avoidable. That became more significant with ice/monorail showing up at 3750'. The monorail was stable, and ice was off to the sides. Spikes allowed for safer and faster travel and are recommended. There was no snow along the ridge until you headed into the col, which had the most significant ice and snowpack in the whole hike. Spikes here all the way. There are many blowdowns which are a little tricky to pass and are sitting on monorail. This could get a little sketchy as the monorail and snowpack begin to deteriorate. Use caution. All in all- wonderful hike that was enjoyable.
