Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fin did well. Lots of water up until the main crossing then the steep switchback section is dry. Some light scrambling for the pups. Very steep and rough as you get higher up but shouldn't bother most conditioned hiking dogs
Bugs
Bugs: expected terrible bugs but was pleasantly surprised. zero mosquitoes today and only mild black flies. never even considered using the bug nets.

Comments
Comments: Cranking out the 52wavs for Margaret. Trail was dry where it counted (steep last mile). The middle swampy section between the initial brook section and the steeps is very wet and swampy. Easy to navigate with careful footing. Some mud pits in the first half mile as well are easy to get past. Lots of painted trillium which were lovely as always. Forgot just how steep and rough the top several hundred feet are on this trail-not ideal for toddler carrying unless you enjoy a real sufferfest, which luckily I do:) Views are top notch from the summit. Shared them for a few minutes with a nice couple from Quebec City, who were the only other folks on trail today.
