| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Mid-sized parking area on the east side of Rt 63. Only car left at 8:15pm. Half dozen to a dozen cars there at 4:30pm but room for plenty more. Dirt lot, easily accessible. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
I don’t believe there were any. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Note that Kilburn Loop Trail is closed beyond its jcts with John Summers Trail (or perhaps beyond its jct with the unmarked side path leading to Pisgah Ridge Trail) due to a damaged bridge. I believe that both trails were marked with white diamonds with their names on them. Neither was difficult to follow. I don’t recall blowdowns on either trail. Trail signs were intact. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Good trails for dogs. |
|
| Bugs: |
They may not have been bad over on Wantastiquet but if you stopped or weren’t moving here, then the black flies were horrific in the evening. |

| Lost and Found: |

| Comments: |
2nd hike of the day after my Wantastiquet, Ann Stokes, Mind Ledge redline. Note that Kilburn Loop Trail is closed beyond its jcts with John Summers Trail (or perhaps beyond its jct with the unmarked side path leading to Pisgah Ridge Trail). The section of Kilburn Trail west of the pond that’s open was a wide road and very pleasant. John Summers Trail was also very nice. The spurs needed for redlining aren’t signed but would be difficult to miss. The trail between the trailhead and the pond loop has some PUDS that are a little annoying. The trails were easy to follow. |
