Trails
Trails: Trout-N-Bacon Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, May 24, 2023
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked on Old Antrum Rd almost right at trailhead. Cut out off road, little rough but enough space for 3-4 cars faced in, not along side like I did.... When I arrived back at my car, someone was regrading the road beyond the TH, I wonder if this is going to meet up with the other end of the road, essentially forming a route on roads around the pond....
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I believe there was on small bridge, but just step overs.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trout-N-Bacon Trail was well blazed in yellow to Bacon Ledge. Around BL there were pink flagging showing the way, and a short cut around BL 'scramble' (not much of scramble). After BL, the trail was pretty over grown; blazes infrequent and faded. Some easy to follow, some not at all. Got off trail once in each direction, but it was easy to find trail ahead.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Cooper had fun. Easy for pups, water to drink.
Bugs
Bugs: Terrible here, too. Move fast and do not stop.
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: Lovely trail through woods, although no wildflowers here; wide variety of the usual birds singing. Nice views at the ledge, peaceful (couldn't sit and relax due to bugs.... gotta come back). Register pretty easy to locate in the lovely open soft wood forest.
