Comments
Comments: Haystack gate closed so I parked at Seven Dwarfs. Did not start hiking until 2PM and the rain was heavier than forecast - made for miserable conditions. The bushwhack was easy to follow [note: that is not a bushwhack] at lower elevations but pushing through a lot of wet vegetation. There were several significant areas of blowdown that obliterated the trail at the upper elevations. I had to rely heavily on my GPS. Saw a moose in Franconia notch on my way home after my hike - made hiking in the the rain worth it.
