 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked at a wide spot in the road just above a smith Amy. Rd.; you could also park at the AT lot and walk about 1/4 mile down the road. |

Dry Trail, Wet Trail |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
You’ll get your feet wet but there are no real stream crossings. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Smith Road is rough to follow in spots; follow the snowmobile signs and you’ll be fine. Just after crossing from Lyme into Orford there’s a herd path to the right that goes up to the Doan Trail and avoids the area where I understand they’re finishing up logging operations this week. The Doan Trail is not well-used and pretty wet, but in good shape (be advised: it’s not especially easy, climbing about 1700’ in just a couple miles). The AT’s terrific: kudos to whoever had it ready for the onslaught (DOC?) |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
This would be a good walk for a hardy dog. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Plenty gnats on Lambert Ridge: annoying but not biting. |
