Comments
Comments: This is always a quiet route up Crotched and today was no exception; I saw no one else on this trail.

I was surprised to see that the upper section of the trail, formerly abandoned, is now open again (?) and has new blazes. At the top, the trail splits and makes a very short loop over the former fire tower site, a stone's throw from the high point. I had read an earlier report that mentioned relocations were coming to this trail. Not sure if this is what that referred to or if more things are in the works. Confusingly, the top of Bennington Trail is still marked with a sign as being at its junction with Shannon's Trail.

I also took the herd path to the high point ledge and noticed that someone stole the benchmark. :(

A hot and sweaty day out there with temps in the mid-80s.
