Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: N/A
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Just one blowdown (does not appear to be new) immediately following/at the trail start (on the south side of Old Troy Road)- very easy walk over. Otherwise, excellent condition. The "mud" sections were quite small and we walked right through them without issue.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No "pets" allowed at Mt. Monadnock
Bugs
Bugs: Nothing early in the morning and with the wonderful, refreshing 10mph winds! We donned nets just below tree line upon our descent... as the flies were biting.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A pair of sunglasses were placed on a tree stump within 0.3 mile south of the trailhead (someone else had found them and placed them there)

Comments
Comments: In all the decades we've enjoyed this glorious mountain, this was our very first time reaching the summit (out and back) via the DUBLIN TRAIL... and (also according to Ken M's NH 52WAView book) this was by far the EASIEST (relatively speaking) way to reach the summit (in OUR humble opinion- and our first grader loved it, too! *please note though that he is a very strong hiker)! It was marvelous to start early before the crowds (many of whom- sadly - were without any packs and some just carrying one small plastic bottled water- that's it)- really hope that they safely returned to the trailhead. We returned to Mt. Monadnock this morning to complete the southern terminus of the MONADNOCK-SUNAPEE GREENWAY! Met a lovely couple who were hiking it SOBO since Friday. If you don't know about the MSGreenway- check it out! What a lovely journey!
