Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: East Branch and Lincoln was running about 240cfs during our journey, several options for rock hopping. Here is the link to the gauge: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/monitoring-location/01074520/#parameterCode=00060&period=P7D sub 600 is usually hoppable, 1200 is the hallmark I avoid, you're going in
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: "IT'S FLOWIN' - IT'S WORKIN" was the quote of the day. I am the trail maintainer of Lincoln Brook, and despite it being muddy in sections, its in really good shape for Lincoln Brook standards. Noticable change in doing some love on Saturday. There are some blowdowns but they fall within wilderness guidelines. I would love to have an axe trained person go through. I'd be happy to buy ya dinner :)
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of dogs out today enjoying the day. The husky at the end of the day was a treat who went swimming with us!

Comments
Comments: A MAGNIFICENT day was had out in Henry's Woods! CONGRATULATIONS to Lil Squirt for gridding out MAY! Ya bub! This was, from what I can count, my twenty-eighth (28) Owl's Head summit! Still as awesome as the first one. We had great conditions on Lincoln Woods. For those that love flora, despite being here on Saturday with no flora, there is a massive amount of Ladyslippers that have bloomed since then, mainly from Osseo junction heading towards the wilderness. Lots of pink and white. Speaking of those who love flora, did note Dwarf Ginseng too! There is no snow to be found anywhere on this hike. The prize of the day, which was loosely anticipated from experience, was the Rhodora that is is beginning to bloom on the slide. It will peak this week, especially what I saw budding. The slide was a sea of purple - amazing. Get this one this week while you can to enjoy the show! We came down Brutus which is wildly obvious and eroded. We hid beer in Black Island Brook as a carrot on a stick to get out, but enjoyed them at the trestle at the the trailhead with a footsoak. Steak tips and fixins' on the grill at the end.
