Comments
Comments: Fun gridlining loop around King Ravine and tagging the summits. Airline/Shortline is pretty dry w/some patchy mud. King Ravine Trail has minor snow patches in shady spots, all the rocks, boulders, headwall was dry. Subway had some snow/ice, faded arrows were challenging to follow in places. Headwall is wicked steep, and theres some solid scrambling in places and that final stretch up thru the Gateway. Summits are dry and snow free, bugs made for a quick tag of Adams but got some breeze on Madison so enjoyed the summit for a bit. Chemin Des Dames is steep but definitely my pick of the three headwall trails to descend. The most terrifying thing about this trail was how overgrown it was and there was some serious fighting the trees for access to footholds on the top half above the Orange Squeezer which is a cool little scramble. Near the bottom of the talus field, there is a decent stretch from the last cairn to a very faded arrow turn blaze in the lower left corner of the talus field that is important to find to exit the talus field in the correct spot
