 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Ample parking in lot along Rt. 113A. Room for maybe a dozen vehicles. I was first in this morning. One other car there when I left at Noon. |

 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Crossing on Big Rock Cave Trail was on stepping stones, easily done. |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Many stepovers along the loop, but nothing terrible. Many large blowdowns have been hand chopped in half along the route. Lots of hard work. Thanks |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Some scrambles. Easier for dogs with longer legs. |
 | Bugs: |
Really bad down low. Lather up and keep moving until you get some elevation. They weren't as bad higher up, but still there. |

I did the loop c'clockwise. Used some trails that I haven't been on before. Pretty good workout. My GPS clocked the loop at just about 9 miles. The Big Rock Caves were interesting. Looks like a nice place to camp. Big Rock had some steep scrambles, steeper than on the Lawrence approach. Great views from the top ledge. The true summit of Paugus in about a .25 mile bushwhack from the ledges. Been there before, so I didn't feel like it today. I didn't see anyone else on the trails today. |
